Wessex Hardy Relay - Part of the South West Summer Series, 27th July  Flyer

NGOC End of Season Event – Cleeve Hill (SO 989275), 14 June  Flyer Control Descriptions  Registration Form

The event will be a 60 minute score event.

The start point is near Cleeve Cloud golf club (NB – NOT the pylons, for those who know the area!). Parking will be in the public car park in the quarry – please do not use the golf club.

It is NOT a mass start – it is individual starts, between 1230-1400.

As a score event, there will be a total of 25 controls and a choice of two maps: one ‘normal’ and, for the more adventurous, one ‘windowed’: 200m diameter circles over each checkpoint contain full map info, the rest of the map is blank, to test your running on bearings between attack points!

Although it is an informal event, SI controls will be used (so bring your dibbers if you own one!), and results will be published on the NGOC website (split between normal and windowed ‘courses’).

The event fee is £3. BOF members will receive a £1 discount. Dibber hire is £1.

Street Orienteering   or   Summertime FUN!!!

Starting Wednesday June 25th we have a weekly series of Street O events lasting until the end of July. These are lots of fun and you can find lanes and footpaths you never even dreamt of! And they are happening somewhere near YOU! For any of you who have never tried these, they are set up like a treasure hunt with lots of questions to which the answers will be found by going to the control marked on the map. Usually trainers are the best footwear. It is a score event and usually lasts for 1 hour. All the questions answered correctly score points .... and what do points mean? ... a lot of fun! If you want any more details, please contact the organiser of the event or look on the website. The events have starts between 7 and 8 pm and last for 1 hour. Hope to see you at some of them.
