Tewkesbury 2020

Tewkesbury 2020, although it starts and finishes in the same place as our earlier Tewkesbury (2018) course, is a completely new one giving you a chance to visit some new bits of the town, and trying to better your previous score around historic Theocsbury (or Elmbury, if you are a fan of one of Tewkesbury's best known sons - John Moore - writer, naturalist, environmentalist, and co-founder of the Cheltenham Literary Festival. If you have read his 'Portrait of Elmbury' you might be a bit circumspect about charging down some of the little alleyways in the town, though Double Alley is a bit more upmarket now than in his day!)

Unlike the 2018 course this one uses the more recent NGOC scoring system; controls 1-10 are worth 10 points, 11-20 are worth 20 points, and 21-30 are worth 30 points. The key difference is that late penalties are only 10 points per minute or part minute, not 30 as before, so you can take bigger risks when grabbing the last few points on your way back to the finish.

Parking is in Morrisons carpark, GL20 5QG. The car park is for Morrison's customers, so you should pop in and buy something, or have a coffee in the cafe.

Start and Finish are on the far side of the car park from the main road. In the corner of the car park nearest to the store itself there is a short path which joins a footpath running alongside the store. This is the Start and Finish. Make sure you run through this point to start your route, and again back through it to stop the clock on your run.
