It’s good to be maprunning competitively again….

A note from tonight’s Thornbury maprun organiser, Doug Wilson….

Thank you to everyone who entered the Thornbury MapRun. After being thwarted twice before by lockdown restrictions it was great to eventually hold the event and we had a perfect evening for it. As Thornbury is reasonably flat I wanted to set controls which would give a good chance of high scores with good running and decision-making. When exploring the area it was surprising how many interconnecting paths there are in parts of the town sot here were plenty of choices to make along the way. Congratulations to Richard Cronin, James Trott (BAOC) and Tom Cochrane who managed to get all the controls within the hour. Also, well done to several others who were within 1 or 2 controls of clearing the course. Apologies to those who got caught on a pretty impassable path near control 28 – I think I owe Ian Phillips a new t-shirt!

If you haven’t done so already check out the other MapRuns available to enter on Fabian 4.
