Waun Fach West

This is a fell run of about 11km, which includes 6-700m of climb. You should not attempt this course unless you are fairly fit, and are properly equipped for a mountain trip and the prevailing weather conditions. Remember that the weather can change very quickly in the hills, and is invariably colder and windier than you might think when sitting in your car at the start. Be prepared; as is always the case on maprun courses, you are entirely responsible for your own safety.

The phone will show your location on the map at all times, but you are advised to carry a compass.

Parking is in the small car park immediately to the North of the old Dragon's Back pub on the A479. Note that there is an honesty box parking scheme here, with a fee of £3 per day.

The start is on the track behind the car park, which you can access via a steep little path from the car park. Once in the sunken lane, turn right and the start is a few meters down the track, where there is an old hut of some sort on the bank on the right.

The Finish is on Castell Dinas, at the start of the wall as you climb steeply up the Castell from the fence below.

Please note that this event has been moved from UK/Gloucestershire/Maptrails to UK/Wales/South Wales Trails
