More on Frampton.....the canal trust now cease bridge opening (to boats) at 18:00, so you will be able to start from then on Thursday, though we will stay open for starts until after 19:00 for anyone who cant make it earlier - just let us know you are coming later - on here or by email to the organiser - address on the web page. ... Now that the second quarter MapRun series is coming to an end, I am looking for a few volunteers to plan events in the third quarter. I need one for the Forest of Dean - Sling and Ellwood - and three for the Gloucester area - suggest Bussage, Apperley and Witcombe - so two new areas which look promising. Planning races is very straightforward, but new areas will need the maps checking. You don't have to be an NGOC member, and there is lots of help available to get started. Only 1 day left to enter Thursday's race in St Briavels, so if you haven't already entered, head on over to Fabian4.co.uk and sign up. The weather lately has meant a huge increase in lush vegetation around the place, and with the recent rain some of it will have fallen across footpaths, so it might be a good idea to wear leggings to minimise stings and scratches etc.The George is looking forward to welcoming us, and is happy to offer snacks and baskets of chips etc, as well as drinks of course, but would appreciate notice if lots of you plan to order meals, so if you do plan to do so, please give them a call and let them know well before the race - 01594 530228. ...
